Come riutilizzare dei bottoni? Creando un bracciale, naturalmente.

Per realizzarlo ho incastonato i bottoni a peyote circolare fissando la lavorazione con della colla per tenerla ferma.

How to recycle buttons? Creating a bracelet, obviously.

To make it, I bezeled the buttons with circular peyote securing beadwork with glue to hold it.

Quando ho terminato la creazione, mi sono accorta che il retro era bello tanto quanto il davanti. L'ho così reso un bracciale double-face.

When I finished my creation, I realized that the back was beautiful as much as the front. So I made it a double-sided bracelet.

Le perline che ho utilizzato sono le Toho Treasure Hematite e delle rocailles 15/0 argentate.

Beads I used are Toho Treasure Hematite and 15/0 silver rocailles.

Concorso It-Bijou di Perles & Co/ Perles & Co It-Bijou Contest

Il negozio on-line Perles & Co, che vende perline e materiali per creare gioielli, ha indetto il concorso It-Bijou. I partecipanti dovevano creare un gioiello must-have per l'estate.

Io ho partecipato con la mia creazione "Casual Elegance".

Ho voluto trasformare un accessorio tipicamente maschile, la cravatta, in una collana indossabile sia su abiti casual che su camicie o abiti estivi.

Hi everybody!

On-line store Perles & Co, that sells beads and materials for creating jewelry, announced the contest It-Bijou. Participants had to create a summer must-have jewel.

I participated with my creation "Casual Elegance".

I wanted to turn a typical male accessory, the tie, into a necklace wearable both on casual outfits and on shirts or summer dresses.

Tra i colori moda di questa stagione ho scelto il blu e il turchese. Per realizzare la collana ho tagliato una cravatta e ho applicato degli automatici sul retro.

I chose blue and turquoise, among seasonal colours. To realize the necklace I cut a tie and I applied snap fasteners on the back.

Ho realizzato il centrale con la tecnica del soutache. Le perle utilizzate sono il lapislazzulo, l'agata blu e l'angelite.

I realized the focal point with soutache technique. Pearls used are lapis lazuli, blue agate and angelite.

 

Ho impreziosito poi la collana ricamando sulla cravatta delle perline da 4 mm di angelite e delle rocailles 11/0.

I then embellished the necklace embroidering the tie with 4 mm angelite beads and 11/0 rocailles.

 

Non so se possa diventare un It-bijou, ma ho pensato che chiunque può riutilizzare una vecchia cravatta e impreziosirla secondo i propri gusti, rendendola femminile e assolutamente personale, magari scovando in fondo al cassetto una vecchia spilla dimenticata. (D'altronde il vintage in questo momento è di moda, perché non sfruttare l'occasione?)

I don't know if it could become an It-bijou, but I thought that everyone can recycle an old tie and embellish it according to his/her own taste, making it feminine and absolutely personal, maybe finding an old forgotten brooch at the back of a drawer. (After all vintage is trendy nowadays, why not take your chance?)

Collana realizzata con la tecnica bead embroidery.

Per il ciondolo ho incastonato un'agata con rocailles 11/0 Purple Iris e 15/0 argentate.

Per i decori ho utilizzato dei componenti in metallo.

Bead embroidered necklace.

For the pendant I bezeled an agate with 11/0 Purple Iris rocailles and 15/0 silver seedbeads.

For embellishments I used metal components.

Starship

Mia madre voleva da tempo degli orecchini a soutache e ho voluto regalarglieli per il suo compleanno.

L'impresa non è stata così semplice. Era la prima volta che facevo degli orecchini e avevo fatto davvero pochi lavori a soutache, la maggior parte dei quali non terminati.

My mother wanted a pair of soutache earrings for a long time and I wanted to make them for her birthday.
It wasn't an easy task. It was the first time I made earrings and I did very few soutache beadworks, most of which incomplete. 

Ho preso spunto dal blog della bravissima Anna Lipowska (http://lianna.blox.pl), che vi invito a visitare  perchè realizza delle cose straordinarie.

Ero partita con un progetto che poi, come al solito, ho cambiato in corso d'opera.

E' venuta fuori una forma un po' strana che mi ricorda lo spazio. L'ho quindi chiamati "Starship" (navicella spaziale).

I was inspired from the blog of talented Anna Lipowska (http://lianna.blox.pl), that I recommend you to take a look at because she realizes amazing creations.

I started with a project that, as usually, I completely changed while working on it.

It came out a strange shape that reminds me of space, so I called it "Starship".

Ho utilizzato delle perle di fiume a forma di chicco di riso, delle perle di madreperla e rocailles 11/0 Galvanized Gold della Miyuki.

Coda di Tacchino/ Turkey's Tail

Il nome vi risulterà un po' bizzarro, ma quando ho creato questi orecchini ho pensato subito alla coda del tacchino, sia per la forma che per i colori.

The name could seem a little bit weird, but when I created this pair of earrings I immediately thought about turkey's tail, both for shape and colours.

Per realizzare gli orecchini ho lavorato a brick stitch intorno ad un anello ovale color oro.
Ho utilizzato le Delica Miyuki nei colori Silver Lined Gold e Silver Lined Root Beer.

To realize them I worked in brick stitch around a gold oval ring.
I used Miyuki Delica in Silver Lined Gold and Silver Lined Root Beer.

Rinascimento

Ho realizzato questi orecchini partendo dai componenti in ottone della Trinity Brass.
Ispirandomi agli orecchini Medici Drop di Marcia DeCoster ho creato lo schema con delle pietre verdi da 6 mm circa e rocailles Toho Bronze.

I realized these earrings starting from Trinity Brass components. Inspired by Medici Drop Earrings by Marcia DeCoster, I created the pattern with 6 mm green beads and Toho Bronze rocailles.

Ho realizzato poi anche il bracciale...

Then I realized the bracelet...

... ed infine anche l'anello.

... and finally the ring too.
